Michael Casillas, LCSW
Michael Casillas has over 10 years of experience as a psychotherapist, working with adolescents, adults, and families. He has worked effectively alongside clients from diverse backgrounds with challenges ranging from mild adjustment disorders to more serious problems.
His approach to treatment draws from the techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Michael has had particular success working with adolescents and young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss. He places an emphasis on pursuing change in the systems in ones lives – the relationships among couples, families and/or communities, to support long-lasting success. His goal as a treatment provider is to collaborate with his clients to build a solution-focused plan that is tailored to their needs, balancing compassion and encouraging change efforts, to provide a path towards inner peace and resilience.
Michael is licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an LCSW and is a long-standing member of the National Association of Social Workers, the California Society for Addiction Medicine, and is an advocate for social justice & public health issues that impact our community.
